Meet the Team

Shelly Pelet Galpin

Founder & Executive Director

Shelly Pelet Galpin

Compelled by a life-long love of horses, and a desire to share the benefits of equestrian activities with people who may not typically have access, Shelly began Locust Lane Riding Center in 2005.
 
She is passionate about helping people become the best version of themselves and finds great joy in witnessing lives being transformed through the mission of Locust Lane. 
 
Shelly has been trained and certified through CHA, Centered Riding, PA Council on Therapeutic Horsemanship and EAGALA. She is currently a professional member of PATH International and is pursuing certification as an Equine Specialist through PATH and Natural Lifemanship. She is a certified professional life coach through Life Breakthrough Academy.
Danielle Rizzo

Danielle Rizzo

Danielle has been serving as a faithful volunteer at Locust Lane since 2008. She has been caring for and riding horses since she 8, with experience in competitive riding. Danielle oversees the chores multiple times a week, pitches in with the After-School Program, Care Crew, and Summer Camp, and offers private sessions for beginner riders.

Mary Kerwin

Mary has been serving as a faithful volunteer at Locust Lane since the fall of 2018. She is a passionate horsewoman and researcher, continually focusing on optimal health for the herd through proper nutrition, care of the pastures, and handling with a Pure Liberty approach. She is also our resident expert in caring for the pigs, donkeys, and chickens.

Elisa Pulliam

Lisa, as she likes to be called, has been serving at Locust Lane since the spring of 2019. Her passion for horses began as a little girl on her first pony ride and evolved into summer riding camp experiences and joining the equestrian club in college. Her focus now is on building connected relationships with horses and people through trauma-focused equine-assisted coaching through pursuing certification with Natural Lifemanship, which combines her passion for mentoring and profession as a certified life coach with her love of horses. She helps with chores, the After-School Program, Care Crew, and offers private equine-assisted coaching sessions to teens, adults, families, and leadership teams.

Michelle Rossi

Michelle has been serving as a faithful volunteer at Locust Lane since the spring of 2019. She is a lifelong horsewoman, with fond experiences of riding her grandparent's pony throughout the neighborhood surrounding their farm in Broomall as a child. She is passionate about caring for the herd and the other farm animals, and serves through feeding chores multiple times a week as well as volunteering with the After-School Program and Care Crew.

Eileen Delaney

Eileen has been serving as a faithful volunteer at Locust Lane since the fall of 2019. Her passion is for serving people and supporting healing, which she has experienced personally (as pictured here), during her first time on a horse in more than two decades. Eileen serves through the After-School Program, Care Crew, and pitches in with administrative responsibilities.
